What tools for my business?

The Web is an infinite universe. A technological jungle of words more barbaric than each other. SOA, serendipity, UGC, tags, crowd sourcing, collective intelligence ... are terms and practices that include concepts valuable in any kind of buiness areas, from the smaller handcraft shop to the most advanced biotechnology companies. This usualy stand for a wide knowledge and information world, and the question is for everyone to know how to take advantage of it.

"Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world."
Albert Einstein, Univers Expert

Emerged in the early '80s, the basic idea of the web was what could be done by interconnecting many computers together? Since then, techniques and concepts have evolved extremely rapidly. In the early 90s, we could brodacast informations only via the webmaster, mastering HTML and sometimes basic CMS. in the 2000s, everyone could use the publishing tools (CMS), and in 2004, Tim O'Reilly introduced us Web 2.0, as a revolutionary web. Today we can read live ads from the street we are and people begin to talk about web squared (squared) or situational information.

The web is primarily a world of sharing. Today it allows me, for example by publishing my knowledge, to capture new markets, find new technicals solutions or just to consolidate my position in highly competitive fields. It is a new way of thinking that requires the expertise of professionals who can provide advice and best practices. You must be prepared to this new way of seeing the economy, customer relations, internal organization and collaboration.

Agiles Methods

"An agile method is an iterative and incremental approach, which is conducted in a collaborative fashion with just enough formality. It generates a high quality product while taking into account the changing needs of customers "
Veronique Rota

Agile methods are the logical evolution of iterative development models used since the late 80s. They officially appeared in 2001 with the Agile Manifesto written and signed by 17 of the greatest figures of software development.

They distinguish 12 principles and core values 4 (Wikipedia translation):

The customer is more closely integrated into the project and development teams are there to meet their needs. The goal is to deliver software perfectly suited to the customer for a lower cost. The benefits are real:

"Agility is the efficiency at immediate future."
Jean-Pierre Vickoff

In 2007, Version One and the APLN (Agile Project Leadership Network) conducted a study on these methods in business. 1700 people from 71 countries responded to the survey which reveals the maturity and the benefits of these methods, so much so that 70% of respondents use these methods in other areas as software development (including the building! !).

Open source

"78% of developers us Free software"
Guillaume Serries, Journal du Net

Open source is a very effective way for collaborative development of applications that ensures quality and responsiveness. Applications called "Open Source" are applications whose source code is open and available. This allows a developer community to enter the code to make it evolve, to improve it and add features. A core-team selected (highly experienced developers on the project) provides control and consistency to the collective work.

The OpenSource allows to defer most of the licence cost on service and thus have a better overall service quality.

We regularly install open source tools for our customers. We select upstream software qualities perfectly able to meet their needs while helping them lower their costs. We deploy solutions ERP, CRM, e-commerce ..., these solutions have the huge advantage of respecting the standards of openness inherent to open source technologies and ability to be easily interconnected.

"The difference between free, and non-free or proprietary software, is similar to the divide between science and alchemy. Before science, there was alchemy, where people guarded their ideas because they wanted to corner the market on the mechanisms used to convert lead into gold.”
Keith Curtis, ex-Microsoft, "repented" et converted to Open Source virtues

R&D

Our passion is finding innovative solutions that meet a real need and improve in one way or another daily life of thousands of users, both in terms of use or quality of service.

"Perfection is achieved not when there's nothing more to add, but when there's nothing left to claim!"
Antoine de St Exupéry, Navigation expert

We believe that open source is a fantastic adventure that stand for a real alternative to proprietary lock-in. But its major flaw is its fragmentation and lack of clarity for non-advised sales person. The services are spread over several applications which may complicate the use and slow its spread.

We are currently working on a service aggregation system based on Blank Application. This system will bring together under a single interface various software building blocks to enterprises.

Our research activities have earned us the title of young innovative company and we compete for numerous awards for innovation as the Open Innovation Awards 2009 which we were invited. The R & D is a major focus in developing our products. A constant project and community monitoring allows us to refine our techniques, our methods and the overall quality of services we offer.
